Kas
Kas is located on the most southwestern point of Anatolia. Because of the proximity of the Taurus Mountains to the water, the landscape of the southwestern coastline is very unforgiving to the rowboats or the sailboats. As a result, Kas and the neighboring cities remained unspoiled until the 90s. Even if there is rapid development in the area, Kas still has a very special energy and has various activities for travelers of all ages.

History of Kas
The first traces of civilization around Kas goes back to the Stone Age. The civilization in Kas started to sparkle especially after the Lycian Era. Kas was called Habessos by the Lycians and the importance of the city can be understood from the size of the Necropoleis of Kas and Kale nearby. The town that remained on the slopes of the hills over modern Kas today was called Phellus during the Hellenistic times which is between the 3rd and the 1st Century BCE. The city was called Antiphellos during the Roman times and suffered from Arabian invasions during the attempts of the Arabian navy trying to reach Constantinopolis. Turkish rules started in the 12th Century in Kas and Christian Greeks were the majority until the population exchange of the Republic of Turkey and Greece in 1923. The tourism industry discovered Kas in the late 80s and since then, Kas is a popular spot for all types of tourists.
