Kızılçukur, Türkçe'de Kırmızı Vadi anlamına gelir. Kızılçukur – Kırmızı Vadi, Kapadokya'da gün batımını izlemek için insanların geldiği bir panoramik noktadır. Bu alanı Kapadokya'daki fotoğraf turlarımız sırasında kullanıyoruz. Kapadokya'daki yerel halk, Kırmızı Vadi'nin en yüksek noktasına Kızılçukur adını verir. Bu geniş açık alan, büyük bir otopark, birkaç kuru meyve ve kuruyemiş satışı yapan tezgah ve sıcak-soğuk içecekler bulabileceğiniz iki kafe içerir. Gün batımını rahatça izlemek için sınırlı bir halka açık oturma alanı bulunmaktadır. Yoğun sezonda iyi bir yer bulabilmek için gün batımından en az bir saat önce orada olmanızı öneririz. Kızılçukur – Kırmızı Vadi'ye ulaşmak için Ürgüp, Göreme veya Uçhisar'dan Ortahisar yönüne doğru araçla gitmeniz gerekmektedir. Kızılçukur – Kırmızı Vadi kavşağı, Ürgüp'ten gelirken karşılaştığınız ilk trafik ışıklarıdır. Uçhisar'dan geliyorsanız, ikinci trafik ışıklı kavşaktan sola dönmeniz gerekir. Göreme'den gelirken ise gördüğünüz ilk trafik ışıklarından sola, ardından ikinci trafik ışıklarından tekrar sola dönerek popüler Kızılçukur – Kırmızı Vadi bölgesine ulaşabilirsiniz.
Kırmızı ve Gül Vadisi'nde Nasıl Yürünür?
Kızılçukur – Kırmızı Vadi otopark alanına vardığınızda, ki bu teknik olarak taş döşeli yolun sonudur, Kırmızı ve Gül Vadileri'ne giden iki rota bulacaksınız. Eğer Kapadokya'da kendi aracınızla geziyorsanız, başlangıç noktasından yukarı doğru giden patikayı takip edebilir ve sol tarafınızda Kırmızı Vadi'yi seyrederek yürüyebilirsiniz. Ardından, Üzümlü (Grape) Kilisesi'ne giden yolu işaret eden büyük taş işaretiyle karşılaşacaksınız. Burası Kırmızı Vadi'nin ortasında mola verebileceğiniz veya hafif bir öğle yemeği yiyebileceğiniz küçük bir kafedir. Üzümlü Kilisesi'nden otopark alanına iki farklı yol bulunmaktadır. Bu döngü, birkaç fotoğraf molası ile birlikte yaklaşık bir saat sürer. Kapadokya'da sınırlı zamanınız varsa bu rota önerilir. En iyi yol, bir şoförün sizi bir rehber eşliğinde tepeye bırakması ve rehberin size Kırmızı Vadi'den Gül Vadisi'ne kadar eşlik ederek yürüyüşü Çavuşin Köyü'nde tamamlamasıdır. Bunu kendi başınıza da yapabilirsiniz ve Çavuşin Köyü'nden Kırmızı Vadi'nin tepesine aracınızı almak için bir taksi tutabilirsiniz.
