Day 1 - Arrive in Izmir - Visit Smyrna, Pergamon and Thyatira
You will meet with your guide and driver at Izmir Airport in the morning and start your tour to the Seven Churches of Asia. You will first visit the Church of Smyrna in the morning. The Christian community of Smyrna was one of the Seven Churches of Asia, mentioned by Apostle John in the Book of Revelation. It was initially an archbishopric, but was promoted to a metropolis during the 9th century. After visiting The Church of Smyrna, you will drive to modern day Bergama and visit the Church of Pergamon. One of the biggest Roman monuments still standing in Turkey, Church of Pergamon was a temple to a number of Egyptian Gods. You will have lunch in a local restaurant in Bergama and continue your journey to Sardis visiting Church of Thyatria on the way. Apostle Paul and Silas had visited the Church of Thyatria in Paul’s second or third journeys which is stated in the bible, Acts 16:13-16. Your guide and driver will take you to your hotel in Sardis after visiting the Church of Thyatria in modern day Akhisar city. Overnight in Sardis.
Day 2 - Visit Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea
After breakfast at your hotel, you will drive to Sardis Ancient city nearby to see the Church of Sardis. In the Book of Revelation, Jesus refers to Sardians as not finishing what they started, being about image rather than substance. You will continue to Alasehir city to visit the Church or Philadelphia before your lunch across the world famous white travertines of Pamukkale. You will visit the Church of Laodicea after lunch. Laodicea very early became a seat of Christianity and a bishopric thanks to the large Jewish community. The Epistle to the Colossians mentions Laodicea as one of the communities of concern for Paul the Apostle. After Laodicea, you can explore the world famous Pamukkale and Hierapolis ancient city and see the Martyrdom of Saint Philip as well as watching the sunset over fertile plains of Aegean region. Overnight in Pamukkale.
Day 3 - Pamukkale, Ephesus & House of Virgin Mary
Your driver and guide will pick you up from your hotel in Pamukkale and drive to Selcuk town to see the House of the Virgin Mary which was declared as a pilgrimage point for the Christian World. After seeing the House of The Virgin Mary, you will drive to Ephesus Ancient city and see the Church of Ephesus. The Apostle John lived in Ephesus from 52 to 54 and organized many missions around Ephesus. You can explore the biggest ancient Roman city in Turkey after visiting the Church of Ephesus and see beautiful examples of Roman architecture. You will have a nice lunch in Selcuk town before seeing the Basilica of Saint John and driving to Izmir airport to catch a flight to your next destination. End of our services.
